How to run the course

Empowering leaders to guide others into life in the Spirit

Getting started

The Holy Spirit Course is designed to be flexible, accessible, and Spirit-led. Whether you're leading a small group in your home, a midweek church gathering, or a youth discipleship group, this guide will help you create a welcoming environment where people can encounter the Holy Spirit and grow in faith.

Got questions? We’d love to help. Please contact us or speak with your local church leader.

How to prepare to use the course

01
Download the guides

Download the leaders' guide and participant guides with ready-to-use prompts for discussion in any setting.

02
Pray and prepare

Before your group session, watch the video in advance and read through the session summary and scriptures.

Take time to ask the Holy Spirit to guide your group discussion, and consider reading Power for Living: The Holy Spirit Course by Eric Gaudion for deeper insight.

03
Create a welcoming space

Create a comfortable, distraction-free environment where your group can focus and feel at ease.

Consider how you’ll open in prayer—inviting God’s presence, setting the tone, and helping everyone centre their hearts for the session ahead. A simple, thoughtful beginning can make all the difference.

04
Play the videos

Download the session videos in advance (or stream them live). Feel free to pause them at any point to allow time for reflection or discussion.

05
Facilitate discussion

Use the provided questions to spark meaningful conversation, encouraging honesty, curiosity, and openness within the group.

Don’t worry about having all the answers. Create space for the Holy Spirit to lead, and trust that God will speak through the discussion.

06
Pray together

Allow time for ministry, prayer, and personal response as the session draws to a close.

Create space for the Holy Spirit to move in people’s lives, bringing encouragement, healing, or conviction as needed. Trust that God is at work in the stillness as much as in the words.

07
Worship Songs

These Elim Sound songs have been chosen to support Holy Spirit Course gatherings and church worship. The playlist includes energetic songs for faith and celebration, as well as more prayerful tracks for reflection, response, and ministry moments, plus a traditional hymn. Use them to help shape the atmosphere, guide a worship response, or give your group language for prayer.

Prefer videos? We've created a playlist and you can stream these songs here.

Please remember to report song usage through your CCLI report if you use these songs in a group or service.
